Showroom Sales Representative

Scalamandré is seeking a Showroom Sales Representative with experience selling to the trades (Interior Designers, Architects, Trades Professionals) for our Morristown, NJ showroom.

- Responsibilities:

- Assess customer needs to recommend and sell suitable product solutions, ensuring a personalized approach.
- Present products in a professional, compelling, and inspiring manner to captivate customer interest.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
- Drive sales across all product categories to meet and exceed overall sales targets.
- Follow up on all open quotes and leads diligently to convert them into successful sales.
- Accurately log all activities and interactions in the CRM system for effective tracking and follow-up.
- Monitor and manage customer orders, ensuring timely updates on order status.
- Conduct regular outreach to reconnect and reactivate dormant accounts or specific target customer groups, generating renewed interest and business opportunities.
- Assist in the selection and specification of high-end custom and stock fabrics, wall-coverings, trimmings, and furniture for residential and contract projects.
- Implement and represent a high standard of service to discerning clientele, upholding Scalamandré’s standards.
- Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
- Requirements:

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.
- Background in Interior Design through education or work experience, providing a strong foundation in design principles.
- Proven sales experience with a track record of meeting and exceeding sales goals.
- Experience in selling custom home design products, such as furniture and carpet, demonstrating product knowledge and expertise.
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and polished appearance at all times, reflecting the company's image.
- Experience in building long-term client relationships based on integrity and trust, fostering customer loyalty.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Positive attitude and willingness to support showroom goals, contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Exceptional organizational and follow-through skills, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time.
- B.A. / B.S. Degree preferably in Interior Design or related field and a minimum of 2 years fabric sales “to the trade” experience, or a minimum of 5 years fabric sales “to the trade” experience in lieu of the aforementioned educational requirements.

Studio Designer
New York City, New York

An experienced Textile Designer to work in our New York studio on the design and production development of fabrics and wallcovering for the HINSON brand. Will also assist in the design and development of product across other brands as needed. Will report to our Senior VP of Design.
- Full time: In office – Monday -Friday 9-5:30
- Location: D&D Building, 979 3rd Ave, Suite 1002, New York, NY

- Key Responsibilities Include:

- Fabric / Wallcovering / Trim: Design development, knowledge of technical construction of weaving and printing, sourcing, coloring, quality assurance.
- Collection Introductions: Preparation for biannual collection introductions. This includes mill follow up, sample size determination, ensuring on-time ordering, length/book rotations, review production samples for color, side match, specifications.
- Knowledge and appreciation of historic textiles.
- Technical product support for claims and QA to work with Claims Department in resolving any issues.
- Qualifications:

- Must have 6 to 9 years’ experience in woven and printed textiles and wallcovering, geared to the luxury interior designer trade.
- Must be a team player who works well with others.
- College degree in textile design preferable.
- Proficient with Nedgraphics, CAD and Photoshop.
